At least ten people were killed, and nine were injured Saturday evening at a racing event in the San Vicente area of Baja California's Ensenada city.

The shooting reportedly happened during a yearly, two-day racing event called "CACHANILLAZO," according to a reporter in Mexico.

The sold-out event was hosted in the small town of San Vicente in Baja, California—a town with a population of less than 4,000.

Mexican journalist Alfredo Alvarez, reported on his website that the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between active members of the Arellano Felix Cartel (CAF) and the Sinaloa Cartel.

According to local reports, the group of alleged hit men were targeting a member of the CAF cartel who was being investigated by the U.S. for drug trafficking. He was reportedly among those killed Saturday.
