I wonder if they had a backup song for a rejection. 40 Housewives left Disneyland that day pissed off at their husbands for their pathetic little proposals.

Yea, thanks for setting the bar so high (and gay). Effin' douche. Besides, anybody who proposes at disneyland is tasteless.

I don't think its right for people who both wear dark pants to marry. What's next? Marrying soda cans???

seriously? world's best marriage proposal , _ever_ ? maybe the best ever performed for the on lookers... even the people in the background were going "is this staged?"..

They've got a happy life ahead of them, her being completely fulfilled in some weird fantasy world, him hiding way in the back of the closet.

That was a pretty strange way to tell your girlfriend you're gay.

I think the few comments Ive made, Ive been attacked by ponce....but wow...Id have to completely agree with him this time....

I hope this was staged....this guy paid and spent the time with 4-7 people and an electric wheel chair to perfectly choreograph and propose to this girl.

She is pretty hot though so maybe it was worth the trouble...of course on the other hand he just lost his man card.

and oh....notice how the sound reception doesnt really change between when he uses the megaphone and when he doesnt....microphone? which would = disneyland shennanigans (sp?)

written by blankfist  | 4 months ago | CH

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest he works there - would certainly allow adequate time and resources to arrange this.

Or it's all a ruse. In which case he probably works there, so I'm still right.

written by moonsammy  | 4 months ago | CH

It seems obvious to me that the guy works at Disneyland. He clearly has connections, knows how to sing and dance, and they met at Disneyland.
That doesn't mean it's a publicity stunt, it just means he's radical and used his available resources to the best of his ability.
Plus the girl is smoking hot which makes it all worthwhile.

written by gnargnar  | 4 months ago | CH

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't feel the need to suggest he's gay on account of his performance. I kind of hope my sons aren't into dance or singing, lest they get dumped on with that kind of bullshit.

Lots of cheese and Disneyana (not much difference between the two), but it was still pretty damn cool and well-executed. I'm guessing he's a cast member at Disneyland.

written by Xax  | 4 months ago | CH

Hey, Xax, I thought this guy was gay from the first sentence he spoke. It wasn't the singing and dancing that led me to think that.

Don't worry about your sons singing and dancing -- no one ever thought Gene Kelly was gay.

The whole thing smacked of fakery -- the only thing that sold it as real was the girlfriend's reaction. She really did have that WTF look.

My trigger-finger hovered over downvote the entire time.

Yeah, they met a year ago on Main St.; he was a manager and she was a 17 year old tourist.

Watch the proposee move to her mark at 2:20 when the ECV lady comes out.
There's a minimum of three camera angles (maybe 5 or more) all with perfect lighting. The medium-height camera has spot-on tracking and the operator knows where the action is going.
The sound is too perfect. They all have to be mic'ed including the cutie.

This is Disney magic at its best.

I'm not sure what people are meaning when they say they thing this is fake. The girl's reaction seemed genuine enough to me, and I don't buy that Disney would do this for publicity.

You people do realize that the people singing and dancing had foreknowledge and planning of this event, right? And that obviously several cameras were filming from different angles and that microphones were used, and people who perform on Broadway are actors. That doesn't make it fake; it makes it well-rehearsed and well-executed.

written by Xax  | 4 months ago | CH

Pavel_one, she didn't move to her mark, she's being pushed by her boyfriend to the mark. You can see his hand guiding her around. And the girl wasn't mic'd.

Viral? The girl is a dead ringer for the woman who performs the part of Princess Jasmine over in the Aladdin Musical at Disney Cali. The lady in the Hawkingmobile performs in it too.

ps. Got dragged into it by friends and their rugrats. Hated every minute. Honest. True story.

I proposed to my then girlfriend at Disney World. Off on side little walk while watching the Electric Light and Magic Parade. And, without the influence of onlookers, she said yes anyway!

Aw come on, it's not tacky to propose to your girlfriend on the spot where you first met her.

As much as it's impressive to do something like this, it is also my least favourite way for a marriage proposal to go. You are effectively forcing your girlfriend to say yes. Well, she doesn't have to, but it's very confronting to do all of this in front of so many people.

And it does scream of being a bit of a show pony.

Now... the way I proposed, pure genius... and done in a way that the actual asking was done in private, so 'no' could be said... of course being that SHE had already chosen the ring, kinda didn't expect a no.

Sorry, I'm a big musical fan and all, but this just makes me cringe. Anyone who has lived close to a Disney theme park in their lifetime is surely familiar with weirdly obsessive Disney fanboy employee, who has no individual identity outside their job and are constantly praising 'the Disney way'. I'm tempted to put this in * cult. Sorry to go all Rottenseed on your post, EDD.
